Liverpool to get new film archive

A new archive being launched today by researchers at the University of Liverpool. aims to map the city on film

The site being run by the Victoria Museum & Gallery will bring together more than a century of films covering life in Liverpool.

The project aims to store more than 1,700 titles from the late 19th Century to the present day.

Covering a wide range of genres, including amateur and actuality films, newsreels, documentaries and features, the database can be searched by date, location (including by building and street name), genre, filmmaker, spatial/architectural themes, and a number of other options.
