Fleetwood’s Marine Hall is in line for a refit as part of the town’s £2m refurbishment of the sea front.

A report in the Blackpool Gazette suggests that

Full plans for the art-deco building will not be released until Monday but the council report has hinted there will be big changes to bring it into the 21st century and help regeneration of the town.
The report says the hall will be refurbished to make better use of the indoor space and broaden the use of the building.

First opened in 1935,the hall and its surroundings overlooked by the Mount dominate the seafront.

One of its claims to fame was that the Beatles were booed from the stage during a gig in 1962 just months before they became famous.

The report from Wyre District council

will be unveiled at Wyre Council’s cabinet at 6pm on Monday.Improvements would be developed gradually but the first proposals must be delivered by March 2011.
