Handy tips on sharing a cottage

July 21, 2009

If you are planning to holiday in a cottage in the region with the kids over the summer holiday I would heartily recommend Kate Figes guide to compatibility in this morning’s Guardian.

You can read the full article here but here are a few pertinent tips.

When it comes to bedtime, do you:

a) let them run around until they fall asleep on the floor

b) suggest they read 10 pages of their school reading book and revise from their spelling lists before lying down with them until they are asleep, thus ensuring no midnight feasts or jumping on the beds

c) insist on lights out by 9pm (even though the eldest is 16) and definitely NO TALKING?
