Food,glorious food festivals

The next couple of months will see the North West hosting a number of food festivals.

It all gets under way next Monday with the month long Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food & Culture


It includes the World Gravy Wrestling Championship, strawberries and Opera at Townley Hall, Ale Trails and Medieval Markets.

Manchester;s very own food and drink festival kicks off on the 1st October will include the usual food market in St Anne’s Square as well as the Independent and Local Wine Festival,a chance for a stroll around Chinatown and finishing up with the Food and Drink awards at the Palace Hotel

The market town of Kendal in Cumbria is staging its first ever Festival of Food between 24th and 31st October where it will promote the quality food available in the town’ and encourage people to explore the various foodie heavens located in its historic ‘yards’ .

Amongst its highlights you will be able to visit local farms to see milking, cattle management and learn about traditional sheep breeds.There will be opportunities to sample produce from the made in Cumbria farmers market and buy straight from local producers.
